Applications for the cosmetics and care product industry

The present market for body care products is divided into five large segments, based on the respective areas of application of the products. Body cleansing and care, dental and oral hygiene, hair products, decorative cosmetics and deodorants. A shared characteristic of all these groups is that, as well as the dominant synthetic detergents (= syndets) as detergent substances they still always contain large quantities of alkali or metal soaps. Here, our natural soaps are used mostly as emulsifiers, gelling agents, consistency regulators and anti-caking agents in ointments or semi-solid products, deodorant sticks, and powders.

Our product range also continues to include many esters, oils and waxes, which are used as basic components for cosmetic products, e.g. as emollients, re-fattening agents, and moisturisers. The products are mostly manufactured based on vegetable raw materials, normally palm oil, and are described according to the Cosmetics Regulation under the corresponding INCI (International Nomenclature for Cosmetic Ingredients) declaration.
