Applications for the paper industry

The modern paper industry uses for the most part cellulose fibres for the industrial manufacturing of paper; these fibrous materials can be divided into two major groups: primary fibrous materials, obtained from coniferous or deciduous woods depending on regional availability and the increasingly important secondary fibrous materials, recycled paper (recycling materials). Both in the decolouration of the recycled papers, the so-called de-inking, the manufacturing of coated papers, i.e. through sizing and/or impregnation of surface-sealed and thus printable and inscribable papers, and the special applications of thermopapers and sandpapers, Herwe products such as fatty acids, alkali and metal soaps, and special waxes are used. The following effects, which are vital for processing, can be achieved:

Emulsifying of dyes, separating effect and prevention of adhesion to calanders, foam reduction, hydrophobisation, viscosity regulation, sliding effect.
