Applications for the rubber industry

Since rubber has been industrially manufactured, stearic acids and metal soaps, among others, have as lubricants been important elements of every rubber mixture, such as NBR, SBR, PBR, EPDM etc., as has zinc oxide as a catalyst, and sulphur / sulphur derivates as cross-linkers. In addition, the Herwemag metal soaps, both as powders and as watery dispersions, form an effective releasing film on the surfaces of the non-vulcanised rubber sheets and thus prevent the layers from sticking together during storage. Another important group within a rubber formulation are the waxes. Under the name Herwewax you will find both synthetic and natural waxes, which, when used as a processing aid, improve the flowing and sliding properties of rubber masses, and also produce an outer protective film for water, UV, and ozone on the rubber, thanks to their good migration properties.
